Aperto®
Networks‘ PacketWave solution consists of three basic product
elements:
•
PacketWave®
1000 Base Station Unit
• PacketWave®
100 Series Subscriber Unit
• WaveCenter®Subscriber
and Element Management Tools
The
Aperto PacketWave 1000 base station supports four-sector and
six-sector cells. It consists of a 19-inch rack mountable,
stackable indoor unit (IDU) with a standard configuration
providing four wireless interface ports and a 100Base-T Fast
Ethernet interface for aggregation and backhaul. Plug-in slots
provide two additional wireless interface ports and one OC3/STM-1
or DS3/E3 backhaul port. Wireless interface ports connect
to outdoor units (ODU) consisting of base station radios and
mast mounted sector antennas.
The PacketWave 100 subscriber unit or customer premise equipment
(CPE) consists of a desktop indoor unit (IDU) and integrated
radio/antenna outdoor unit (ODU). The IDU provides an Ethernet
10/100Base-T interface to connect to subscriber equipment
such as Ethernet switch, PC‘s and IP telephones. The ODU mounted
on the side of a building connects to the wireless interface
port on the IDU.
Aperto‘s WaveCenter, a suite of subscriber management and
element management tools – provides a web-based graphical
user interface, comprehensive SNMP support and Java-based
configuration manager.
Radios and antennas for multiple frequency bands including
5.3, 5.8, 3.5 and 2.5 GHz meet the requirements of service
providers worldwide. Base station IDU‘s and subscriber IDU‘s
are common across all frequencies, leveraging a common platform
to deploy and administer.
